Terms and privacy

Using the site

The Midgley Awards is a free, independent website. It is provided as it is, without guarantees. It may change or close at any time. By using it you agree to these terms and to the community guidelines.

What you post

You are responsible for the nominations and comments you post. Only post material you have the right to share. When you post, you give the site permission to display it, to adjust its labels and formatting, and to quote it on the site and in announcements of the winners. You can ask for your post to be removed with the Report button.

Nominations and comments are the opinions of the people who post them. The founding nominees summarize published history.

Moderators may decline, edit labels on, hide or remove any post, and may limit access for anyone who breaks the guidelines.

What the site stores

• What you submit. Nominations and comments, and a name if you give one. Names are optional.
• A random ID in your browser. It counts one vote per browser per nominee and remembers what you reported. It is not linked to your identity.
• A scrambled form of your network address. It is used for a short time to limit spam and floods of posts. The original address is not stored.
• Your email address, if you sign up for the winners announcement. It is used for that announcement only. It is never sold or shared. Ask to be removed at any time.

The site has no ads and no tracking cookies. It runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver the site. If a human check appears on a form, it is Cloudflare Turnstile. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your network address when the page loads.
